....What the fuck man
D'awwww... Yeah. Cause in this day and age of Terrorism, Tornadoes and Tsunamis, who doesn't want to remember the child within them and be swept up by Princes, Princesses and Happily Ever After...?
Hey so I'm pretty far into Dead Space 2. Game is really solid but doesn't impress as much as the original game did. Its really just more of the same so the wow factor isn't as strong here, despite the solid gameplay, slightly improved visuals, and different environments. Graphically, while it does look better than DS1, its not as big of a jump as say Mass Effect 2 was over ME1. Mainly it just has some better lighting effects. Granted, the game was one of the best looking games out there for a long time so I guess you can't complain too much.
Gameplay-wise, its largely the same as before---you still creep through unsettling environments while trying to conserve ammo and upgrade your weapons and suit while trying to not get ambushed by nasties. Every once in awhile, you'll get a radio message from one of the survivors or find a video/text log that moves the story along, which is a bit odd compared to the story of DS1, but it does the job. Of course this time you're on a space station instead of a giant ship, a place where people are supposed to live and go about their lives. So in some ways, the atmosphere of this game can at times resemble a really morbid version of Bioshock as you go through children's elementary schools and apartment areas, though only sporadically. But it does help to make the game feel different from its predecessor.
I'm 8 hours in and on disc 2 (yes its on 2 discs on the 360) but I have no idea how close I am to being done.
The cake is a lie!
You know it to be true.
Nice impressions thanks. I think my next few games will be RDR, Sin and Punishment 2 and OOT.
Hey Vader, what does it mean?
So here is a bit of juicy gossip about Wii 2. Remember when the rumours said that Nintendo had solved every storage problem developers could think of? A few years back Nintendo was working with holgraphic storage patents and hiring some employees from Microvision.
Couple of questions for you guys.
With all the Move and Kinect end of year hype I couldn't help but notice that we were nearing summer of the year after and no one here had either one.
Why haven't you got it? And what would push you to get it?
Also might as well throw in - if you haven't got motionplus yet - I guess you are all waiting for Zelda?
I don't have a PS3, if I did a mandate from Sony that forced all FPS to utilise the Move would get me to buy it. Or a new Elebits game.
As for Kinect, I can't see anything that would make me want it, I guess I'm awaiting SUDAs circus horror game.
Also no one commented on the 3DS pics yesterday.
What do you think of them?
For first gen 3DS games it's looking quite tasty. It sort of reminds me of Fragile but with more advanced stuff. With the 3D turned on it will look pretty swish.
I will never buy Kinect. Never. If MS forces consumers to buy it with their next console, then I won't buy their next console.
Move is interesting in that it's a complete ripoff of the Wii Remote. Yeah sure, it's "better" in some ways, but a rip is still a rip . . . with a pink glowing ball on top.
Yeah, no thanks.
I'd like Nintendo to make more MotionPlus games. Zelda and Wii Play Motion are NOT enough! Wii Play Motion will likely suck too.
Move I'm interested in. The price means that interest is pointless.
Flingsmash doesn't count?
I will never buy Kinect. It's horseshit. Plus it requires more space than I have. I'm not moving the couch to play a game. My game room is about 5 meters long and 3 meters wide, and the way I have things set up it wouldn't work. But even if it did I would not want one.
The Move? My PS3 already has controllers. And I have a Wii already.
Red Steel 2 as well.
The Royal Wedding: A Gamer's Guide
Not as completely not about games as you may think
The date
The Royal Wedding is taking place on the day of Friday April 29. This is the same date in history that Hitler married Eva Braun (April 29, 1945). Hitler was a Nazi that famously appeared as the final boss in historically important first-person shooter Wolfenstein 3D. Prince Harry (Prince William's brother and best man) accidentally dressed like a Nazi once.
The Queen
The Queen (aka Elizabeth II) is Prince William's gran. Like the Prince, there are also lots of video game characters that are queens, such as: Queen Slug-For-A-Butt (Earthworm Jim), Queen Myrrah (Gears of War), Queen Bean (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga) and Lightning McQueen (Cars: The Video Game).
The Queen's favourite hobbies include shooting guns and riding horses. This is very similar to most of what happens in Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption.
I guess wasn't clear in my post, I meant new MotionPlus games coming out this year or next.
They should make a sequel to Flingsmash called Flingpoo staring monkeys in a Zoo. That I would buy!
It's so nice to see 100's of thousands of people gathered for a HAPPY occasion for a change! Refreshes the spirit!
I'm supposed to be somewhere right now, but can't stop watching CNN...
Can't miss the first Royal Kiss...!
D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ! ! !
