Up in the top corner of the screen are a bunch of little symbols, which I've interpreted as status indicators both positive and negative.  Is there anywhere in the menus where you can find out what status have been cast on you?  I've gone to temple, and I have no diseases etc... so I'm not too worried, but at this point there are about 10 of them.

Also, when I am strong enough and have beaten the main quest I am going to return to Balmora and kill every last merchant.  They are such dicks to me.  I have a shield that's worth 28,000 and he's offering me 10 units. I'm going to bide my time, and crush them like grapes.

Have you tried hovering the mouse over them? Or are you playing on xbox?

Those who have qualms about killing civillians in GTA are always those that turn out to be the most deviously evil.
