Steam Deal:
Capcom is offering half off of either of the last two games in the series over on Steam. Both Resident Evil 5 and the non-canon spinoff Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City are available for half price, making the first one $9.99, and the second $24.99 for the base game, or $38.94 with all of the DLC included.
Do not get ORC, avoid that shit like the plague.
So I was messing with the 3DS checking out the eshop and saw that game fractured soul, looks super awesome.
Well, cleansed my post-Paper Mario gaming malaise with a run through Mafia for the PS2. Not bad, but severly gimped by the PS2. Better than Chicago Enforcer (which isn't saying much), not as good as The Godfather: The Game. Certainly makes me want to pick up Mafia 2 if I ever see it around.
I am now playing Blue Dragon on 360. Bare bones JRPG (perfect) with incredible visuals and style. It's another kid's game, but just the kind of change up I needed.
Leo, looks like IGN has gone back to the hundred point scale, even though their official page says they left that system in the dust;
For more than a decade, IGN reviewed games on a 100-point scale. Meaning we gave games from a 0.1-10.0 and every digit in between. In the early days of game journalism, the emphasis was on overanalyzing games, perhaps to try and assure people of its validity as an art form.
Over the years, it's become more and more clear that most folks don't need criticism on such a microscopic level and that debating the merits of Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect 2 is valid regardless if one received a .1 higher score.
Our goal has always been to help you make a good purchase decision and, frankly, you don't need scores broken down to such a minute level to get the point across. And we would rather that debates on which game is better (including in our own office) weren't determined by a tenth-of-a-point. If two amazing games get a 9.5, you'll know each is worth buying and the decision on which is better occurs beyond the review. Basically, we don't want reviews to end the discussion, but perhaps encourage more of them. - link
So I guess they have gone back to their old system. I tried to find when they made their changes, but I find their site impossible to navigate.
"In the early days of game journalism, the emphasis was on overanalyzing games, perhaps to try and assure people of its validity as an art form."
That's a rather interesting justification given that that's more of a modern obsession...
It is. Mighty Switch Force meets Contra meets Outland. Got it, played it a little bit. Loved what I've seen so far!
Huh... Steve Wozniak is moving to Australia and becoming a citizen. Congrats Australians. You have one of our museum exhibits on permanent display. Apparently he wants to live there because of the proposed highspeed internet for everyone in 2018 or whenever that's going to happen. Enjoy.
The highspeed internet that can't currently be enjoyed in America?
...then I promptly fell asleep...
Impressions tonight!
Its finally all set in every way, now I can just enjoy it. Its a fucking BEAST dude, I love it!
Its almost like having a console and getting a badass new TV to play it on, you know when you wanna go back and play all your old favorites JUST to see what they look like? Well that's what I want to do on my new PC.
Obviously I gotta continue with Batman, but I am dying to load up Crysis 2 and install the Super HiRes physx pak for it. It will be ridiculous.
It IS better than the main game...much better. COD campaign's IMO have been worthless since COD4. So now the Wii U has 2 zombie games that will be better than RE6 on day 1.
How many hours are you into it? I started it a couple months ago but got sidetracked. Could be nice to go back to it and share impressions with a friend as we progress.
Once again...a move in the game world that completely baffles me. Mass Effect Trilogy on Xbox and PC, where you can already get the trilogy. The two consoles that don't have the entire series, come later or not at all?
Didn't MS help with funding for the first game? I think there's a reason ME1 hasn't hit the PS3 yet.
EDIT: They must have had some kind of timed exclusivity deal.
Huh? It's coming to ps3 too. First time ME1 is on ps3.
And is never coming to my region
I heard on MacBreak Weekly that he was moving to Au for the National Broadband Network. Which would be foolish. I wonder how long he'll last down here, he's a massive gadget geek. I guess he'll be okay if he stays in one of the two big cities, but wait until he knows what it is like to not live near a Fry's Electronics.
MS published it. It may be a timed exclusive, but perhaps also it could be they need extra time to port a ME1 version for PS3.
Amalur only sold 20K in it's launch week in Japan. Slow week over there for so many new games. When FF3 on PSP is the best selling game I guess that's all you need to know about last week.
