Conclusion
With Death on the Nile, Microids Studio Lyon has settled into a great formula for a Poirot adventure: a supporting playable character brings novelty and gives the moustachioed star room to ham it up as a lightly comic persona. Some mildly disjointed pacing and a dozily relaxed speed might put some people off, but if you want the cosy feeling of curling up with a good mystery novel, then this is absolutely the game for you.
And while I'm probably never going to play it, the Atari 2600 version of Golden Axe looks kind of cool. It can't be much jankier than the original one.
And it looks like they made the Reavers the bad guys so you only have to slaughter cyborgs and not full humans.
As someone who always feels queesy about killing realistic looking people in videogames, I can only applaud this. After watching the trailer, I'd be applauding even louder if the Reavers were even less human looking.
Yeah, Wolverine looks awesome. Spider-Man is my number one favourite superhero and Wolverine is my second favourite. Also love Insomniac. Definitely can’t wait for this game.
Fable Anniversary is a good upgrade. The improved graphics and stable frame rate are nice. Sadly, they toned down the bloom lighting a bit. Fable 1 should have excessive bloom; it part of its fairy tale look and charm. Also, there's no old graphics toggle like Halo Anniversary has, which is a shame. Still a lot of fun, though.
FF7 Remake director understands players’ qualms about Switch 2 GKCs, but for AAA devs, it’s a way to overcome loading speed limitations
In an interview with JPGames, Hamaguchi says that he understands why players don't like Game-Key Cards and why they're annoyed with the situation. However, "among developers, the discussion about the keycard format is perhaps a bit different to what fans maybe expect."
He goes on to explain that while the 64 GB capacity of physical cartridges is limiting too, the biggest issue for developers who make large-scale, "high-end HD" games is loading speed. Much like recent statements from Star Wars Outlaws' developers, he explains that the loading speeds of games running on physical cartridges are inherently much slower compared to titles loaded from SSD. "It's going to be inferior, it just has to be, that's the way the media works, physically," he comments. As such, the option to use Game-Key Cards allows developers to achieve smoother loading for AAA games being ported to the Switch 2.
While Hamaguchi is sympathetic to players' concerns, he hopes that they will come to accept Game-Key Cards as a part of Switch 2 gaming. To him, Game-Key Cards can give developers more opportunities to bring games to the platform. Not every developer has to use them, but it's nice for the option to be there instead of relying solely on physical cartridges.
Resident Evil Requiem: Interview with Capcom
09/25/25 - VGC interviewed director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa about Resident Evil Requiem (PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PC). The most interesting statements at a glance:
- Raccoon City appears in the game in the form of flashbacks and allusions. New players should understand the plot without any prior knowledge, but fans will get additional details and connections. The aim is to balance accessibility for newcomers and depth for connoisseurs of the series.
- Nakanishi sees leaks about content partly positively, as they show the great interest of the fans. It becomes problematic when unconfirmed information is treated online as established facts.
- Resident Evil Requiem is the first main part of the series in decades to be released simultaneously on a Nintendo console (Switch 2). Reason: The RE Engine transferred surprisingly smoothly to the Switch 2 hardware. A subsequent porting was not necessary.
The technical implementation was carried out smoothly thanks to a scalable engine, which is already optimized for high-end PCs and consoles.
- Capcom sees the Switch 2 version not only as a test, but as part of the strategy to reach as many players as possible.
- Game Key Cards on the Switch 2 are not a developer's decision, but a distribution decision.
- Insights from projects such as Village and Kunitsu-Gami were incorporated into the development. Technical knowledge is systematically shared between projects within the company.
- Nakanishi expressly welcomes competition in the survival horror genre, such as Silent Hill f. Competition stimulates the market.
It's funny how off memories can be. I remember Fable being a much more open game, bigger levels anyway. These areas are quite tiny.
I'd also forgotten about was how bad the frame rate was in the og game, which is the same for this 360 Anniversary edition. Sadly, even on the Xbox series S, the frame rate noticably chugs in the city areas. And I have FPS boost enabled!
However, there is a fart button, which I'd also forgotten about, that allows you to fart at any time, so all is forgiven.
Street Fighter 6 is $20 on the US Nintendo eshop until the end of the month.
Nice!
Probably a game key card though, if they cost less than other versions, its token offer but still nice.
Well, Borderlands 4 is delayed indefinitely. I guess I will look into getting the Series S version.

Looks very good outside of the aliased hair.

It's awesome fun. You meet Lando, play Sabacc, fly to a new galaxy.
You have to sneak about a ship doing nefarious stuff. To play in a high stakes game on a casino ship.
The Star Wars atmosphere is on point and there's some legitimately cracking dialogue.
This is so much fun.
