Wait did they just cancel the new True Crime game? but it looked decent and it was "the most polished open world game" like a few days ago.

Yes Activision please follow Pachters advice, make a pay to play online CoD. Frankly I am sick of CoD being the biggest game for the last few years, this move will surely end that.

Its all so sad and it seems like every other month Activision is closing down another studio. Why get these studios only to destroy them?

Nah the studio remains open it's up in Vancouver.  But yeah, I think it had to be very far along, they were still doing media tours in studio as recent as a month ago.  I think for Activision they were probably looking at the marketing costs and it would not have panned out.

They are the guys who did Mod Nation Racers.

Guitar Hero could have survived at the right price.  They could have kept kicking them out yearly at $25 a pop.  But that's not how this industry rolls I guess.

So Neversoft is probably done with as well.  Nice huh? Work your ass off for a decade, building the fortunes of Activision with THPS, and there's no grace period to re-work the studio. Just "C-YA!"

Wow so that True Crime dev is Modnation Racers. What a difference a publisher makes, one is a very nice well received game. Next project canned by the evil empire.

Ah, my Blu-ray player finally warmed up. Blu-ray = awesome! Of course, I already knew it that, but it's nice to finally have one of my own. It loads BD's very fast. My dad's two year old Blu-ray player takes a couple mintues (no exaggeration) to boot a disk, but my new player only takes 20 -30 seconds.

I've almost beaten Enslaved, which for some reason I thought was going to be good but flawed, but I've loved it since I started and nothing has come along to change it.

It's basically a slightly less pretty Uncharted 2 with more interesting characters and plot, and better weapons too.

I keep waiting for it to suck (I know about the ending -- thanks giantbombcast), but even knowing how it ends I don;t see how that would change my view of this game (which is currently cruising toward a 9 from me).

There were 166 news stories on gaming in my "tray" this morning and only three of them worth bringing over.  At least to me.  As a reminder for those of you who do updates, realize that I don't post everything, just things that matter to me, so don't assume that I've delivered everything a source has just because I have one story from that source posted.
