I think 2006 was my favorite with the Wii games reveal and Sony's fiasco with the giant crab.  That was my favorite year.

Mine was probably 2004 with Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 2 and RE4.

Besides until Sony's conference this evening I don't have much of a vested interest in anything presented.

Sony conference starts at like 2 am here so I'll be asleep. The one time of year I regret being in this time zone is E3. I always have to wait all day for the conferences to start.

Oh if anyone was interested in it, I saw X-Men: First Class last night. My brain is kind of conflicted. The movie itself is pretty good, as long as they're focusing on the main cast. When they start showing the auxiliary characters then there's just a big drop in quality. It's a cool 'Swinging 60's' superhero period piece. However, as an X-men fan I found myself disgusted quite often. They really butchered the X-Men lore/history. I kept wanting to scream "that's not right!"  I'd consider it the comic book movie equivelent of Okami in that regard.

I never know what X-Men comic series to read. I want to see the main one with the main characters I know.

A year after its worse E3 conference ever, Jack Tretton and Kaz Hirai took Sony in a different direction presentation-wise by speaking from the virtual world.


Unfortunately, as the pair demoed the potential of PlayStation Home, the hammy nature that corporate executives usually present with was the thing that dominated.


Kaz's avatar is playing on his PSP in Home, 'grilling up some food' on the BBQ as Tretton walks in:


"Hey Kaz, what are you doing here? Are you playing Riiiidge Racer?" Full marks for being able to poke fun at yourself, but must we always sit through these poorly acted renditions of real life?


Hirai laughs it off and points to the hot dogs and burgers on the grill. Tretton asks for a turkey burger because 'as you can see from his avatar' he's trying to keep in shape.


The problem is that no-one ever gets a burger, or a hot dog or even a slightly charred corn on the cob because Home doesn't have culinary features.


What we essentially had was two Sony execs chatting via PlayStation Home in a painfully unnatural way. Hardly what you'd call impressive, but then, that's the fault of Home more than anything else.
