This is a JRPG sausagefest at the moment, DQ10, Tales of the World, FF Explorers, MH4. Then they showed some weird new game from Marvelous.
Amazon^
You guys who have ignored the Diddy Kong story, know this: the blog was written by a confirmed ex-THQ developer. Not some random on the internet.
^ I didn't ignore it because of disbelief. I ignored it because Monster Games have ignored Excite Truck 2.
From the thread on the story@
"I'm gonna have to finally come out and be "that guy" in this thread. Never thought this would be something I could say, but I have a line of communication with Monster, and while I can't confirm 100% it's DKR2, I can confirm, perhaps well outside my comfort level, that they're working on something for the WiiU that is pretty much talked about by everyone involved as the most exciting thing to be done on WiiU yet, and that they are certain it's going to blow people away upon reveal. I genuinely wasn't told details because while I may want to know, I don't trust myself with that much knowledge, so it's likely best they didn't either."
^ Excite Truck 2 announcement would blow me away; DKR2, not so much.
Yeah, gotta say I'd take Excite Truck 2 over MK8 (and certainly DKR2) any day of the week. And MK8 is easily the best game I've played from this year.
I ignored it because while I enjoyed DKR, I don't think a DKR2 would be a good idea. Seriously, either they'll try to make it cooler with over the top graphics that won't match with the original's style and atmosphere, or they'll try to make it just as playfull as the original, something that I don't think can be duplicated in this day and age anymore. DKR was a weird mashup of ideas that somehow clicked together. Any attempt to repeat that is doomed to fail, and if Nintendo doesn't see that, they're just being blind. And DKR has been too long ago for people to still care much for it.
What?
I didn't ignore it I just didn't see it until after you pointed it out.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Or in other words, I don't have time to make an elaborate point
To put it short: I don't think something like DKR would be succesfull in this day and age. It's a game from a time long gone. A time where games like Turok, Blast Corps and Tony Hawk's Pro Skateboarding made sense. It'd just be awkward now. I don't want the warm fuzzy feeling that DKR brings to my mind spoiled by the potential disaster a new installment could turn out to be.
You know what.....fuck ExciteTruck and fuck Diddy Kong Racing.
I want an actual real EXCITEBIKE 64 sequel!
And BTW....no racing game could be the most exciting thing to be done on Wii U as yet.
I see.
IDK, Diddy Kong was a great mix of hub world, boss fights, arenas and races. I think if the concept was expanded upon and done right, perhaps an open world? It could be very exciting and fun to play.
I'm interested in Ninja Gaiden 2: Sigma all of a sudden. I wish it was on the U to allow me to play whenever I want.
I still have yet to play more than a few hours of it on the PS3.
Well in that case its become a Jak & Daxter game.
Why?
I never finished it for some reason. I loved Black and kind of ant to complete the trilogy.
Dragon Age 3 is sounding awesome....one main area is as big as the entire 1st game? You can customize your own castle? Its a good thing I took a vacation that week...

Yeah I'm kind of with SupremeAC's line of thinking on Diddy Kong's Racing 2. I read the story posted by GG but didn't have anything to say about it because frankly I just didn't really care. Mario Kart is more then enough of that kind of racer to satisfy me on Nintendo platforms.
Plus there's Sonic All Stars which is just as good as Mario Kart. I need to get back to that as a matter of a fact.
