Nintendo Direct announced for Fridayshowcase is set to kick off at 2pm BST / 3pm CEST / 6am ET / 9am PT and will provide 60 minutes' worth of news and announcements on games nintendolife.com news gamingeek
Pretty decent direct. Would have loved a first party game tease like Mario or Zelda, even if they are a ways off. Motorbikes in Metroid may be cool but it gives me Arkham Knight vibes and I don't really care for that gameplay.
If the Resident Evil games weren't shown, that Direct was a bit of a wash out for me. Some decent stuff but at this point I feel like Kirby, Yoshi, Tomadachi and non mainline Pokemon games should just be segregated into their own directs so I don't have to suffer through them.
Fire Emblem at first I thought was the new Monolithsoft game, then I saw the gameplay and graphics, meh.
Switch 2 performance and graphics are looking better, Hyrule Age of Imprisonment was very smooth and tons of stuff going on. Same as the new Dynasty Wars.
Dragon Quest 7 looked good. Seems like S-E is finally moving away from or evolving the 2DHD engine that they've been using for all of their remakes for the past several years.
However, it's one of the bottom games in the series. It's just too goddamn long for its own good. I'm going to guess they're using the 3DS version, which sped up the gameplay but I think it's still required about 100-hour investment.

Really good Direct. I very much liked:
It boggles my mind that this wasn't released on 3DS.

That Virtual Boy accessory is crazy. Definitely didn’t expect that in a million years.
Especially a $100 accessory.

There’s also a cardboard version for $25.
3ds screens are 420 x 240p for the top screen.
If switch 2 has a 1080p screen can it replicate 3DS games using whatever device/lenses they're selling?
