Anyone here have experience with dual screen PC setups? I'm looking to replace my monitor I hook up to my Surface Pro with a monitor that I can use my surface pen on and I have found one that refreshes at 75hz. My Surface Pro is set to refesh at 60hz. Can a higher refresh monitor render at a lower refresh, or does it then simply add duplicate frames? Put more clearly, can a 75hz monitor run at 60Hz, or can it only run at 75Hz?
Most monitors support multiple refresh rates, and 60Hz is a very common standard. You can usually change the refresh rate in the Windows display setting (but most monitors just pick up the change natively and you don't have to do anything.
I spent over an hour last night playing NES Pinball. I've never spent any real time with it before, but it's pretty good. I especially like the Mario break out style bonus level.
I'll give it a go this weekend, it's been a while.
I still play Pinball for the Atari 2600 several times a year.
Do you think Nintendo might stealth drop Metroid Prime 2 and 3 to get us hyped for the new game?
It's agood thought, but I don;t think they'll do that unless they need to pad for time to polish the new Metroid.
Given the accidental display of the poster in the UK last month I'd suspect a almost shadow drop of the new game -- like a 3 week launch cycle. I thin the game has already gone gold and they are just giving Bananza 2-3 months to soak in before the next big launch.
So now that Microsoft is porting games to Sony and maybe Nintendo platforms, as well as PC.
And Sony appears to be readying to put games on every platform.
Is anyone now considering being a single platform owner?
How many peeps here had an Xb1 and a PS4?
How many have a PS5 and an Xbox Series console?
If you did are you considering not doing that anymore?
Side question, which Sony or Microsoft games would you like to be ported elsewhere?
This is more of a forum topic worthy question.
I had a XB1 and PS4 and that's the last time I'll have systems from both. If the current gen XB had true 100% backward compatibility for XBOriginal and 360 I'd have bought two of them by now. But they fucked that up. And I've held of on PS5 because Sony has apparently euthanised their development studios. MS has more hits on PS than Sony at this time.
This job posting is not an indication that Sony is going multiplat for their exclusives. They are a electronics manufacturer. Sony games will launch on Sony electronics and then when it makes sense launch on any platform that makes sense. At some point we will see Last of Us on Switch 2, I guarantee it. But the next release will stay on Sony first for a long time, then eventualy come to PC (and XB if there are any more XB) and then finally to Nintendo (Nintendo will always be last because they don't want to erode JP market for their PS hardware sales).
For me I no longer have the energy or space to keep up with multiple consoles.
Maybe in the future, being price dependent, if I have more time on my hands I might explore getting another console. But I've found I can't even max out and play all the games I already have on my backlog.
Given the higher price of games these days Im more likely to save my pennies for first party stuff and hobo price buy indie games instead.
I can't even keep up with one console these days. I'm too tired and mentally fried after work for modern gaming. Retro gaming fits me better lately.
Over a week ago, I loaned my PS5 to my sister so she could play my disk copy of Kena Bridge of Spirits. I put my Atari 7800+ in its place on my TV stand and stacked up a bunch of carts on both sides. I thought I'd miss the PS5 once it was gone, but I haven't.
My days of two consoles are definitely over. All I have to do is turn to my right and I see a shelf full of games for current and older systems, many of which I'm just waiting for the time to play or replay. The idea of of dropping $400 to $500 for a new system just to increase my backlog? Once upon a time I would say I can't justify that decision, but now the decision itself doesn't even make sense to me.
I’ll probably always get the three main consoles myself. I have collections of hundreds of games for Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo libraries. As long as they maintain the current backwards compatibility support then I’ll have an interest in getting the newest systems for that alone.
I guess for me it depends on the games. I got a Series S since I dkipped the Xbone so there were plenty of new to me games. I'm skipping Sony this gen because I'm just not excited for their gsmes. I will probably always own a Nintendo console.
I've owned only Nintendo games consoles for nearly 40 years. I bought an Xbone last gen, but found that I hardly gamed on it despite there being a number of games that interested me. I guess the comfort of small scale gaming the Switch introduced turned me off from the Xbone. I've hardly played on the telly since getting the Switch on launch 8 years ago. The Xbone just became our Netflix box.
So yeah, nothing much changes for me I don't have the time for multiple consoles and as such can't justify the cost of entry into their libraries. I also don't care for sports games, or for games that use violence against realistic humans. I couldn't even play Superhot VR. So yeah, I don't feel I'm missing out on much, although there are some PS exclusives I'd like to play.
Nintendo raised their prices for Switch 1 stuff here in Canada today and will be doing so in the US on August 3rd. Some things that I noticed going by Best Buy here are that prices went up for some of the following:
Was glad to see proper Switch 2 versions of Yakuza Kiwami and a couple of other games.
Sega seems to want to port as many Yakuza games as possible. I almost bought Kiwami a few weeks back but the sale timed out before I got it.
Wonder if it has an upgrade path?

I didn't get into Video Pinball all that much, probably because I had Midnight Magic first. I should give both a go tonight.
Man, the Windwaker's camera and controls are rough.
Windwaker HD's camera was great. I can't recall how it was on the GCN.
Not good. Would love to play the hd version. I was much more forgiving back then.
One of the worst things about that gen was not being able to change x and y camera settings on games.

That's what I'd do anyway.

Don't PC owners already get the majority of Xbox content and a smattering of Sony content?
Yes, but Sony comes really late currently.
That's why I am predominatly PC these days. Steamdeck makes it easier.

Those are Canadian prices.
Huh. I was always under the impression you Canadians paid with beaver tails and raccoon hats.
