I wrapped up Rayman Legends and played a bit of NiGHTS Into Dreams, mainly to stream the Christmas level. And I just started a weird AF game called Little Misfortune, which is some kind of twisted dark humor depressing adventure game. That'll be the nighttime streaming game for some time.
And I still need to start Final Fantasy 16 one of these days.
Always wanted to try Little Misfortune but it never goes below £5.30
I managed to squeeze in a couple of games of Tetris 99. Go me!
I had wanted to play some MKWorld, but for some reason our internet hasn't been all that great for about a week now and I had suffered some disconnects, which are severely punished in MKW so I just gave up.

I think you get screwed by the Nintendo tax. I picked it up because it was on sale for only $6 on PSN. I figured at that price, it was worth the risk. And wow, this is not a comfortable game to play.
Rob, on what console did you play NiGHTs on? PS5? Its not even on the Switch.
PS3. Sega made the remaster available for PS3 and Xbox 360. I don't think it ever was updated for any other systems since then. It's one of the reasons I'll never box up the PS3. There's still a handful of exclusives then I'm not going to be able to play anywhere else.
It was on Steam, but it was delisted along with a couple other older Sega games about a year ago. There was a rumor that Sega was going to start a streaming service, and those delisted games were looked at as proof of it, but I don't think I've heard anything else about that streaming service since the original word got leaked back in spring.
I have NiGHTs on PS3 and Steam. They should re-release it on Switch along with the Wii sequel.
I don't know about re-releasing Journey Into Dreams, without making some big changes to it. The music's great. The regular levels are great. But they threw so much extra crap into that game and paired it with some of the worst voice acting of the generation. I'm okay just pretending that it never happened.

Yeah, the voice acting was awful. They should remove it altogether; text dialogue would be better.
Journey wasn't nearly as good as the original, but I still had a lot of fun with it. That being said, I haven't played it over 15 years, so I don't know if it still holds up or not. I'd still rather have a remaster than not, though.

Nintendo improves HDR settings of the Switch 2 in TV mode
12/15/25 - Nintendo has technically revised the HDR configuration of the Switch 2 in TV mode with a current system update, thus fixing a central problem of the previous image output. According to video expert Vincent Teoh of HDTVTest, the update significantly improves the accuracy and intelligibility of HDR calibration.
At the market launch, analyses had shown that many users received a washed-out image with cropped highlights. The reason for this was a calibration process that was difficult to understand, in which the maximum brightness had to be estimated on the basis of clicks on the first setting screen.
Nintendo has now adapted this approach: When calling up the HDR menu, the actual peak brightness value in nits can be displayed at the touch of a button. Each change corresponds to exactly 10 nits, regardless of whether 1,000, 4,000 or up to 10,000 nits are set. This eliminates a large part of the previous inaccuracy. The so-called Paper White setting, which defines the reference white value for medium areas of the image, has also been corrected. The default value is now around 300 nits instead of 500 nits previously, resulting in better tracing and higher perceived dynamics.
For displays with HGIG support, it is recommended to enable this feature and adjust the peak brightness until the reference symbol disappears. Without HGIG, 1,000 nits peak brightness and 200 nits paper white are considered a practical orientation. Overall, the update makes it much easier to display HDR correctly on TVs, monitors and projectors.
14.12.25 - A new Alien game is apparently in the works. This is reported by Insider Gaming, citing several sources familiar with the project.
According to them, it is a single-player arcade survival horror game set on a decaying space station. Players will have to deal with both Xenomorphs and Special Forces. The sources describe the current concept as a mixture of survival horror and action-oriented exploration.
According to Insider Gaming, development has been underway since at least 2020 under changing project names. In the meantime, the project was considered discontinued after it had changed developers several times. Internal documents from that year now show Eidos Montreal as the responsible studio. The game combines combat, platforming elements and puzzles. These include repairs of technical systems or the decryption of codes. The enemy AI is supposed to adapt to the behavior of the players and react tactically.
Internal documents name at least three characters: The main role is played by the engineer Aubrey, who uses tools such as grappling hooks and magnetic boots. Another character is Ryuzo, who controls the space station and apparently acts as an antagonist. In addition, Ripley 8 appears. Internally, there is hope to win Sigourney Weaver for this role. According to the report, there are no concrete commitments
The current budget is less than USD 75 million, significantly higher than an earlier forecast of around USD 30 million. The release period is currently 2028 for all major platforms. According to sources, the development is still in an early phase. Eidos Montreal and its parent company Embracer did not comment on this and have not confirmed the report.

Edit: I hope they catch the POS that murdered him and his wife.

That sucks. R.I.P. Rob Reiner and his wife.

Turn on HGIG
Set the first screen to what your TV's advertised peak brightness is.
Set the second screen to five clicks from the left.
Play games.
