Thanks all. Not doing a humble brag or anything but I've known you all for years and while I've not told you in real time about death of parents and other stuff like that I figured I'd share this as it's novel.
It's not really a big deal, but maybe I keep thinking that as a coping mechanism.
I donlt have much time for much though, but that's also because my wife took on a job before all this that requires me to drop off and pick up my kid each day, so I'm stretched thin. I've not considered commerical options for the pick up and drop off because I spoil my kid.
So this is interesting. The Steamworld developer, Image and Form, has had a real rough year. I thought they were just a small developer chugging along and releasing small indie Games to a receptive audience, but that's not necessarily the case.
Eight months ago they released a hundred employees. I don't know if the releases were more surprising or just the fact that they were a studio of over a hundred people in the first place. But it seems as they were expanding the SteamWorld universe and scaling up the size of the games, they were growing at a rate they couldn't maintain since The audience growth wasn't there.
I'm not sure of getting bought by Atari is going to be a good thing for either party, but it could be worse. They could have been bought by Microsoft.

Anyway I'll surf the wave while I can.
Make your kid officially assistent to the CEO.
Then you wont have to drop them off. They'll do the driving.

Ididn't know the dev was in trouble. They have a lot of talent. Hopefully, Atari will help bring the best out of them.
So now that Microsoft is porting games to Sony and maybe Nintendo platforms, as well as PC.
And Sony appears to be readying to put games on every platform.
Is anyone now considering being a single platform owner?
How many peeps here had an Xb1 and a PS4?
How many have a PS5 and an Xbox Series console?
If you did are you considering not doing that anymore?
Side question, which Sony or Microsoft games would you like to be ported elsewhere?
If everyone puts games on PC day one I would be a PC only person. I did not get the new Xbox. I guess I always need a nintendo console cause they never do third party.
I have finished Death Stranding 2, amazing game, Kojima at his most crazy. Loved it, lots to talk about cause in some ways better than the first and sometimes not. Still want to do the side missions, loads of tough timed missions.
I am playing some DK, its a ton of fun but there is still such a lack of challenge. I dont know, I still like my focused platformers. Strange though Astro bot was that and while I greatly enjoyed it I dont know if I like it as much as this one. I dont know what I want lol. I want it to be open with great deep mechanics but still focused. Galaxy is the template and DK is not Galaxy, its Oddyssey in a new style.
Anyone here have experience with dual screen PC setups? I'm looking to replace my monitor I hook up to my Surface Pro with a monitor that I can use my surface pen on and I have found one that refreshes at 75hz. My Surface Pro is set to refesh at 60hz. Can a higher refresh monitor render at a lower refresh, or does it then simply add duplicate frames? Put more clearly, can a 75hz monitor run at 60Hz, or can it only run at 75Hz?

I remember a post about work life balance from a while back. Good on you to be able to drive the kid to and from school. I'm in a similar situation, where a change of workplace for my wife means I now have to drop off the youngest each day. No CEO position for me though.
Aren't we expecting MP4 rather soon-ish? I'd imagine at this point they'd just be canibalizing the sales of MP4.
I would prefer August or September but I feel like Nintendo may hold off until November to help with holiday sales. I don't know, Pokemon will be releasing during that time.

I'm really curious to see what they'll show in the partner direct in an hour. I'm hoping for a lot of third party heavy hitters to release second half of the year, because the one thing the Switch2 is lacking now is games.

Welp.
That didn't happen.
I feel like the leakers lied to us, those of us who were paying attention.
I was expecting some big AAA games blowout or at least a few more heavy hitters.
What that Nintendo Direct showed was literally a continuation of every game series and/or publisher that already supported Switch.
There were good games, great ones even but there was nothing surprising or unexpected.
I wanted to see something I didn't expect, here's The Oblivion remaster, or Death Stranding.
We've been led down the garden path by leakers saying all this support is coming and then we see, what?
Another Monster Hunter Stories, another Octopath Traveler (which will be awesome btw)
And more Persona and Yakuza.
Bloober teams game looked decent ish. Star Wars Outlaws looks okay.
Hmmm. You may be on to something.

25 minute Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase tomorrow at 6am PT/9am ET. Typical Nintendo waiting until the last minute to announce something.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing this tomorrow.
I want a Metroid release date and a lot of info on third party games.

And three salaries in that household. Win win!

Congrats Aspro! Very cool

Do you think Nintendo might stealth drop Metroid Prime 2 and 3 to get us hyped for the new game?
