Mike Straw: “Half-Life 3 is a Steam Machine launch title, Steam hardware set for Spring 2026”
Mike Straw from Insider Gaming:
Half-Life 3 is a Steam Machine launch title, Steam hardware set for Spring 2026.
The reason behind Half-Life 3 not being announced this year is that Valve's worried about the economics of RAM memory prices and it's affect on the hardware.
Pragmata on Nintendo Switch 2 is so high-quality that even developers were surprised
One of the more surprising announcements from The Game Awards is that the visually impressive sci-fi adventure Pragmata will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as other formats. In a new interview with the developers it has been revealed that the team were surprised at how the game holds up on the less powerful Nintendo Switch 2 console. In an interview with Famitsu the team says that visually it stands shoulder to shoulder with Resident Evil Requiem. There will soon be a demo for you to check out.
Oyama: “I think it’s reaching a level that stands shoulder to shoulder with Resident Evil: Requiem. We plan to release a demo on every home console the game will launch on, so I hope everyone will give it a try. It’s shaping up to be something thoroughly enjoyable. Please wait just a little longer.”
Zhao: “When we first got it running on Switch 2, even the development team was surprised, saying, ‘Wow, it actually runs at this level of quality!’ The reaction was very positive.”

There's some Switch 2 screens on the eshop. A bit aliased with an upscaler it looks like.
I'm not sure what to expect from RE9 on switch 2.
The £90, generation pack is finally listed on amazon.
I've been playing Mario Kart World too much. I booted up Wave Race 64 This afternoon and every time I went off a high wave or ramp, I instinctively tapped the right shoulder button to give my character a boost. Wave Race 64 does not have that feature, lol.
There are some ill judged parts of this game. The whole timed defence sections get old fast and are repeated a few times too many in the mines.
The sarge and kid characters suck, Miles is actually okay but the female tag along character is annoying AF.
I like the robot and feel that he could expand its use as a non annoying helper.
The lava dungeon was total ass. But the mines are better. Now I have most power ups, exploring the desert and levels hunting for power ups feels much better.
It's a flawed but overall very enjoyable game. It's level design isnt anywhere near the complex layouts of the older games but its still fun to play and very atmospheric.

Lol. "Samus Aran! Is it really you? It's an honor."
Regarding the hints, all previous Primes had hints. Just not a human giving them to you.
Retro Studios likes to channel Halo into their Metroid games.
Makes sense. I've read a lot if Halo devs jumped ship and went to Retro.
That's what I was thinking, the map used to point you where to head to. Now we have Miles radio in instead. There are some ill judged parts of this game. The whole timed defence sections get old fast and are repeated a few times too many in the mines.

I am about halfway through my second playthrough of Metroid Prime 4 this weekend.
