14.12.25 - A new Alien game is apparently in the works. This is reported by Insider Gaming, citing several sources familiar with the project.
According to them, it is a single-player arcade survival horror game set on a decaying space station. Players will have to deal with both Xenomorphs and Special Forces. The sources describe the current concept as a mixture of survival horror and action-oriented exploration.
According to Insider Gaming, development has been underway since at least 2020 under changing project names. In the meantime, the project was considered discontinued after it had changed developers several times. Internal documents from that year now show Eidos Montreal as the responsible studio. The game combines combat, platforming elements and puzzles. These include repairs of technical systems or the decryption of codes. The enemy AI is supposed to adapt to the behavior of the players and react tactically.
Internal documents name at least three characters: The main role is played by the engineer Aubrey, who uses tools such as grappling hooks and magnetic boots. Another character is Ryuzo, who controls the space station and apparently acts as an antagonist. In addition, Ripley 8 appears. Internally, there is hope to win Sigourney Weaver for this role. According to the report, there are no concrete commitments
The current budget is less than USD 75 million, significantly higher than an earlier forecast of around USD 30 million. The release period is currently 2028 for all major platforms. According to sources, the development is still in an early phase. Eidos Montreal and its parent company Embracer did not comment on this and have not confirmed the report.
The story and characters are sad and kind of dark, but there's a lot of black humor that cuts through that and will make you laugh. As far as the adventure itself, it's more of a walking simulator than a real adventure game. You don't really figure out a lot of puzzles, but you are frequently in situations where you have to make a choice. Your choices have consequences, and I believe guide you to what kind of ending you get in the game. It's also pretty short, at only 3 hours. I'm about halfway through right now. But because of the length and the consequences of your choices, they do recommend two playthroughs to see everything.
16.12.25 - Larian Studios has sold more than 20 million units of Baldur's Gate 3 (PS5, Xbox Series, PC) worldwide. CEO Swen Vincke confirmed this in an interview with Jason Schreier from Bloomberg. The game first launched on 03.08.23 for PC, followed by PS5 (06.09.23) and Xbox Series (07.12.23).
PlayStation 6: AMD could have semi-custom chips manufactured by Samsung
16.12.25 - According to South Korean media reports, AMD plans to have chips manufactured at Samsung Foundry in the future. This is reported Hardwareluxx.de. This is not a complete switch from TSMC, but a complementary production option.
The focus is apparently not on the production of Radeon series graphics cards or new Ryzen processors, but potentially on the semi-custom chip for the PlayStation 6 or, if necessary, for the Xbox Next. The background is that TSMC cannot currently offer additional capacity, while Samsung would offer the opportunity to produce chips that balance price and performance.
AMD's delivery of the PlayStation 6 chip to Sony has been officially confirmed, with the console expected to launch at the end of 2027. It remains unclear whether Samsung will actually receive the production order, as the order requires millions of chips of consistent quality.
Alternatively, AMD could use the announcement to put pressure on TSMC to reach a faster agreement for the production of the PlayStation 6 chips; TSMC has already produced the chips of the PlayStation 5.

Turn on HGIG
Set the first screen to what your TV's advertised peak brightness is.
Set the second screen to five clicks from the left.
Play games.
Lol just AI googled the peak hdr brightness of my TV and hdr settings.
For a start the brightness varies, some getting 880 peak brightness and other modes having 2000 nits. So that's helpful (sarcasm)
Then the hdr settings list is ridiculous with tons of different options. That doesn't even include what you have to set your console to.

I was going to get it, but watching reviews I'm not convinced I like the setting.
I'd prefer to play the one in London.
