Okay, so Deadly Premonition... I'm ten hours into this game, and I'd say the "so bad it's good" description is starting to hold water.  I just read the Destructoid review and a lot of what he says is correct -- including the fact that if you "get it" it is perfect.  But I'm not here to convince you one way or the other.

The vibe I am getting off it lately is that it remind a lot of the Police Quest series from Sierra back in the '90's.  The parrallels are obvious, but beyond those clear parrallels it is the pace of the games that is similar.  There is urgency, in solving the crime, but you are also letting the cogs turn at a speed that you cannot control, and that blend is very satisfying.

3D Movies

One of the 3DS features Nintendo announced at E3 was the system's ability to show 3D movies. Nintendo will be highlighting this non-gaming feature through individual collaborations with Fuji Television and Nippon Television. The studios will be distributing free 3D videos to 3DS devices via SpotPass.

SpotPass

This is the English name for the feature that's known in Japanese as "Itsunoma no Tsuushin." When you put your 3DS in sleep mode, it will not only communicate with other 3DS systems for StreetPass exchanges, but with Wi-Fi access points as well for SpotPass communications. Under SpotPass, once the system has found an access point, it will download such things as rankings, ghost data, free software and notifications. You'll be able to pre set the kinds of things you want transferred in this fashion.

Huh? What does not being into old Kirby games have to do with anything? It's not even using the old Kirby skills (ie, eating enemies and using their powers). It's a platformer with awesome visuals and seemingly varied gameplay with all those power ups/forms they've shown. How does having Kirby instead of Mario or whoever negate all that?

Dead Rising 2 bosses suck & bring out the worst of the game. That's not skillful beat 'em up gameplay, it's just shit that likely requires grinding to get better weapons & manage to outdo their damage output versus yours rather than play better & avoid getting hit altogether when they can have 5x your agility, I can't believe this game is considered AAA when outside superficial visuals it's cheaply made trash with no substance & a fuckton of smaller & bigger annoyances ranging from the presentation to the core gameplay that nulify the few things it actually does good (which is pretty much just the Monster Hunter vibe I get from preparing my weapons & items before heading out for the missions & the variety of the weapons). GRR! I might as well play Samurai Warriors 3 instead.
