BTW I started Heavenly Sword last night.

The reason why the glass exploded was because you managed to find its disintegration point. You see, all things have such a point, and if you touch it, they blow up in a spectacular fashion.

Demand drives pricing in most businesses. Can't really fault Nintendo for this. They will charge whatever they feel they can get away with. If sales after launch are not within the expected range, they'll have to eat some crow and cut price back. But judging by some of the ejaculatory responses towards the system all over the net, I doubt such a thing is going to happen.

As reported at Bloomberg, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata explained the price decision during an analysts meeting yesterday. Someone suggested that the system's price tag of ¥25,000 yen might be on the high side. Iwata responded that the the price was set by considering a number of factors, including reactions to the system's E3 reveal.
Oh man. That didn't work in reverse with Move or Kinect. Well, next time Ninty shows off a console, every act ambivalent.
Saga 3 DS Gets Dated in Japan
SaGa 3 (aka Final Fantasy Adventure 3) was a pretty rough game. Despite being the third in the series I always thought it was a big step backwards and ultimately the worst of the trilogy. Just boring, boring, boring. Unless they rebuild the game from the ground up it's nothing I'd recommend anyone play.
I think this story is getting a little twisted. I've said it before, Nintendo felt that they could have charged more for the Wii based on the ridiculous demand for that lasted well over a year. I'm pretty sure they already had a price range in place before E3. And yes, based on the reaction they went on the high end of that price range. But I don't think it was on the lines "hey they really like it, let's charge an extra $100 for it!!!" like is being portrayed by this story.
