Nothing indicates any announcement. Buy it for PSP, it's $30 or less. I bought it full price off PSN, it was worth it.

Let me explain everything:

In one VGA teaser where Geoff was talking about the BioWare game and another one about the GOTY, there is a quick flash of the Peace Walker logo. Vg247 assumed that this is about one of the announcements at VGA because [they thought] Peace Walker is not nominated for anything, which is wrong as it is nominated for best handheld game. You may ask if this still can be an announcement. Well, we don't know, there were similar flashes of other games in teasers, like for example Alan Wake which is nominated for best Xbox 360 game, so it looks like these are about nominees.

More NPD:

Wilson also expressed disappointment in sales of Kinect games. Despite the hype Microsoft's motion-sensing camera system generated, Wilson said software for the unit totaled sales of $57 million, or about 4 percent of game sales for the month. Wilson didn't weigh in on the peripheral's most highly promoted titles, but he did say that Electronic Arts' third-person shooter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (the 360 version of which supports Kinect) was another disappointment, as the blockbuster movie tie-in sold fewer than 100,000 copies.

Kinect software ain't doing so well. Gaf estimates that the attach rate is under 1 game per unit (it comes with a game, that doesn't count).

Pachter thinks Black Ops sold 14 million worldwide already.

So that brings me back to my original Kinnect question, "why the hell are people buying this?" It clearly isn't for the games. Was Minority Report really that inspirational of a movie that people want to use their hands to flip through their Netflix account?

Non-gamers with money and MS-exclusive enthusiasts.  I think anyone who wants it has already gotten it.

Hmm, saved me over a whole euro when buying Cave Story on WiiWare (1000 pts) while having my Wii set to UK instead of Greece. Paying in pounds is better than paying in euros! It said 7 pounds and I checked my bank account before and after and the charge was 8,77 Euros instead of the usual 10. 1,23 euros saved! Hurray! Nyaa

What's a good relatively cheap mouse to get to replace my aging Logitech MX1000? I'd prefer it not to have rubber plastic parts since they get messy over time. Not having seams at the plastic mold (especially for no reason other than having a prettier appearance or unecessary buttons) would be nice too, it's hard to clean that shit on all electronics/remotes/mice/etc. I want a wireless mouse preferably. The way my desk is the mouse almost bumps on a surface when I move it forward so the two wired mice I've used so far borked over time, the cable didn't like the abuse there I guess. I don't care for size and shape, one of those two wired was a laptop mouse and it was fine enough, it just took me some time to adjust to the MX1000 afterwards, it felt like a brick in comparison, heh. Oh, I'd also prefer one that charges via USB or base or something, not with AA batteries. Although if they really do last long (I saw some Logitech mice claiming three years of power with each pair of AA batteries, but that sounds absurd to me, why not use the same low power technology on mice with their own lithium batteries so that they don't need charging every few days), that's ok too. I don't care to have more than 3 buttons either, although a button on the thumb area would be nice to have, I'm used to using that as middle mouse button these days that the MX1000's wheel has stopped responding  as a button most of the time.

Just a quick note: Fluidity on Wii-Ware is a great, great game; kinda along the lines of LocoRoco for the PSP.

...but playing it makes me constantly feel like I have to pee!

Tits and arse aren't the most important thing this time around for Lara Croft. Youth and, by association, vulnerability are - Lara Croft is a battleaxe with "Amazonian proportions" no longer.

"We wanted to make a girl that was somewhat familiar, yet had a special quality about her – something in the way her eyes look and her expression in her face that makes you want to care for her," art director Brian Horton explained to Game Informer.

"Her skin is still bare on the arms and there are going to be rips and tears on her clothes, but it won't be about being revealing. It's a way of saying that through these tough situations, there is a beauty and vulnerability coming through. I think that is sexy in its own way.

"There is a different tone we are going for across the board," he said, "and Lara Croft as a sex object isn't our goal. No unlockable bikinis."

In the Tomb Raider reboot, announced earlier this week, Lara Croft is 21 years-old. This is the story of how she, a desperate survivor, becomes a heroine.

"She isn't going to be as tall as the men around her – about a head shorter. This reinforces the feeling that she's against all odds," Horton said.

"The relative proportion is more important than the actual number [5' 7"] – making her feel like a scrapper of sorts, even though she will always find a way through her self-determination. She will find a way to survive even if she doesn't have Amazonian proportions in the game.

"The emphasis on acrobatics isn't nearly as important as the fact that she is capable."

Vulnerability didn't work out too well for Samus.

Well, late night shopping time, I ordered a simple Microsoft 5000 wireless mouse in the end (thumb button included!), a small Logitech M215 wireless for my sister's laptop (that I bought for her last year) as that wired one I mentioned got borked was hers, and a PC cleaning kit as it's about time I do this rig. I also had enough of my ancient Sony Ericsson mobile phone, with its dodgy directional stick that hasn't listened to me for like a year, so I ordered a slightly less crappy cheapskate type LG KP500. It looks cool for such a cheap phone, touchscreen and all, and is miles beyond the Ericsson in capabilities (the camera has actual megapixels, lol), although it's probably also miles below the average phone people use these days. I know there are many bad reviews if you check amazon but most are good, and some bad are ridiculous, with people complaining about things you can turn off, like the auto-filling of words as you type, or how fast it auto-locks, or how the screen, camera or other features are not as good as phones that cost 5-10x as much, lol... So, I guess that's my early Christmas, lol.

LOLLOLLOL My new favorite comedian, who is that?

Irish comedian who does most of his work in Britain. Usually on panel game shows. He does the Apprentice after show you're fired and Mock the Week where comedians mock weekly news.

Hurray! Nyaa

Cave Story demo is now up on European WiiWare - Nintendo continuing to add weekly demos. Happy

I didn't like the game myself, I see myself getting lost and annoyed.

Ron Paul is awesome

Ron Paul defends Wikileaks on House Floor

WikiLeaks release of classified information has generated a lot of attention in the past few weeks. The hysterical reaction makes one wonder if this is not an example of killing the messenger for the bad news. Despite what is claimed, the information that has been so far released, though classified, has caused no known harm to any individual, but it has caused plenty of embarrassment to our government. Losing our grip on our empire is not welcomed by the neoconservatives in charge.

There is now more information confirming that Saudi Arabia is a principal supporter and financier of al Qaeda, and that this should set off alarm bells since we guarantee its Sharia-run government. This emphasizes even more the fact that no al Qaeda existed in Iraq before 9/11, and yet we went to war against Iraq based on the lie that it did. It has been charged by experts that Julian Assange, the internet publisher of this information, has committed a heinous crime, deserving prosecution for treason and execution, or even assassination.

But should we not at least ask how the U.S. government should prosecute an Australian citizen for treason for publishing U.S. secret information that he did not steal? And if WikiLeaks is to be prosecuted for publishing classified documents, why shouldn't the Washington Post, the New York Times, and others also published these documents be prosecuted? Actually, some in Congress are threatening this as well.

Story continues below

The New York Times, as a results of a Supreme Court ruling, was not found guilty in 1971 for the publication of the Pentagon Papers. Daniel Ellsberg never served a day in prison for his role in obtaining these secret documents. The Pentagon Papers were also inserted into the Congressional record by Senator Mike Gravel, with no charges of any kind being made of breaking any national security laws. Yet the release of this classified information was considered illegal by many, and those who lied us into the Vietnam war, and argued for its prolongation were outraged. But the truth gained from the Pentagon Papers revealed that lies were told about the Gulf of Tonkin attack. which perpetuated a sad and tragic episode in our history.

Just as with the Vietnam War, the Iraq War was based on lies. We were never threatened by weapons of mass destruction or al Qaeda in Iraq, though the attack on Iraq was based on this false information. Any information which challenges the official propaganda for the war in the Middle East is unwelcome by the administration and the supporters of these unnecessary wars. Few are interested in understanding the relationship of our foreign policy and our presence in the Middle East to the threat of terrorism. Revealing the real nature and goal of our presence in so many Muslim countries is a threat to our empire, and any revelation of this truth is highly resented by those in charge.

Questions to consider:

Number 1: Do the America People deserve know the truth regarding the ongoing wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen?

Number 2: Could a larger question be how can an army private access so much secret information?

Number 3: Why is the hostility mostly directed at Assange, the publisher, and not at our governments failure to protect classified information?

Number 4: Are we getting our moneys worth of the 80 Billion dollars per year spent on intelligence gathering?

Number 5: Which has resulted in the greatest number of deaths: lying us into war or Wikileaks revelations or the release of the Pentagon Papers?

Number 6: If Assange can be convicted of a crime for publishing information that he did not steal, what does this say about the future of the first amendment and the independence of the internet?

Number 7: Could it be that the real reason for the near universal attacks on Wikileaks is more about secretly maintaining a seriously flawed foreign policy of empire than it is about national security?

Number 8: Is there not a huge difference between releasing secret information to help the enemy in a time of declared war, which is treason, and the releasing of information to expose our government lies that promote secret wars, death and corruption?

Number 9: Was it not once considered patriotic to stand up to our government when it is wrong?

Thomas Jefferson had it right when he advised 'Let the eyes of vigilance never be closed.' I yield back the balance of my time.
