I just saw loads on FFXIII-2. Looks like it is more open and I love recuiting enemies to your team. I'm sold.
Overall I was underwhelmed with E3 this year. There really weren't enough game announcements. Wii U was awesome and the Vita's pricing was a huge surprise, but I like E3 because of the games and this year was just a let down.
And with all the bitching about the Wii U name, do people actually think Vita is a good name for a video game system??
MIYAMOTO is making Sonic Generations!!!!!!
It's better than Wii U!
Sonic Generations is ICREDIBLE. Have you guys seen these videos!!!
I have to get the 3DS version too cause it gets its own set of new worlds.
Assassin's Creed for Wii U announced, the new one.
5 games:
- multi-sports game
- Killer Freaks
- Assassin's Creed
- Raving Rabbids
- Ghost Recon online
What the hell is a Killerfreaks. Sounds so bad.
Showing people using touch pad to arm weapons, people talking to each other, coordinating attacks and scanning maps with tablet, calling air attacks with tablet.
NO HEADSET NEEDED. Controller is mic.
Rich-IGN: tablet could become a drone view so you can see the world.
6:28
Rich-IGN: new example - missle strike perk - aim using the controller, steer it with the tablet.
6:28
Audrey Drake: Now talking about a perk system.
6:28
Audrey Drake: Choose a position on the map for all the other players to see, you can all choose to coordinate to attack or defend that location.
6:28
Rich-IGN: showing a tactical map. showing you real-time information that you can interact with. see enemies, see friendlies, click on positions, share strategies. someone tapped a location on the map and then on the game screen, a marker popped into the middle of the field for players to see
6:27
Audrey Drake: This stuff is no longer sci-fi, players can now experience it for themselves.
6:27
Rich-IGN: teams in singapore are working on the prototypes we're about to see.
Why dont they show us these things. it would go a long way to start a positive buzz for the Wii U.
phenTotilo: the demo here is set up with a big TV showing the TV view and a smaller TV to show what's on the Wii U controller

9:34
StephenTotilo: the controller screens are showing a 2D map of the game's urban-warfare level
9:35
StephenTotilo: the map scrolls and rotates as the player moves
9:35
StephenTotilo: designer takes out his drone
9:35
StephenTotilo: his controller screen now shows an overhead view of part of the level
9:35
StephenTotilo: it's scanning for the other player
9:35
StephenTotilo: the drone then marked the enemy player
9:36
StephenTotilo: (it's hard to tell if the guy using the drain exercised manual control over it)
9:36
StephenTotilo: the drone's overhead view obviously helps the designer a lot in seeing the layout of where his enemy is hiding
6:37
Audrey Drake: The designer won. Big surprise.
6:36
Rich-IGN: marked the enemy with the drone, and now the player can see the marked enemy on the tv.
6:35
Rich-IGN: the tablets are showing maps for the players.... until one of them takes off with his drone. tv display remains on player. drone on the tablet is tracking the enemy.
6:35
Audrey Drake: The designer has a drone, whose view is shown on the controller, scanning the perimeter.
6:34
Audrey Drake: Not as textured as it could be, but then they made it clear this is still very early on in development.
9:37
StephenTotilo: that's it for the demo
9:37
StephenTotilo: actually, we're sticking with this game a bit more
9:37
StephenTotilo: this game will be "as online as possible"
9:37
StephenTotilo: will carry a persistence of progression for your character on the Wii U
9:37
StephenTotilo: Personalized account system, creation as seamless as possible
9:37
StephenTotilo: Flexible friends list, secured
9:38
StephenTotilo: Network Services: Ranking, matchmaking
9:38
StephenTotilo: You can friend people online
9:38
StephenTotilo: (I know what you're thinking. He's not mentioned whether Friend Codes are in play)
6:38
Rich-IGN: Ghost Recon will have a persistent online. personalized account system, creation as seamless as possible, flexible friends list, ranking, matchmaking, etc
6:37
Audrey Drake: Tracks stats, etc
6:37
Audrey Drake: Personalized account system
6:37
Audrey Drake: Now talking about the online components.
9:38
StephenTotilo: there will be parental controls and a ban list
9:38
StephenTotilo: to keep things secure
9:38
StephenTotilo: The game will include "the ghost feed"
9:39
StephenTotilo: this means that even if your TV is off or broadcasting a show, you can get a feed of info on your always-on Wii U controller
9:39
StephenTotilo: can track how your friends are doing, their achievements, yours. Can schedule a match with other players while you're watching a TV show
9:40
StephenTotilo: You're also looking at the stats of your friends and seeing the asynchronous competition of how you and your friends are doing in various micro-competitions
6:40
Audrey Drake: Encourages "micro-competition" to continue even offline.
6:39
Audrey Drake: Track what your friends are doing, and schedule matches.
6:39
Rich-IGN: Allows you track what's going on with your friends - achievements, activities, etc.
6:39
Rich-IGN: "Ghost Feed" now - can work with this even if the TV is doing something else.
6:39
Audrey Drake: Parental controls available.
Now Killer Freaks from Outer Space, exclusive competitive FPS for Wii U...
You fight hordes of gremlins?
7:01

7:00
Rich-IGN:
Can summon one or five freaks, or a nest.
Wednesday June 8, 2011 7:00 Rich-IGN
7:00
Audrey Drake:

Wednesday June 8, 2011 7:00 Audrey Drake

6:59
Rich-IGN:
The tablet guy has a top-down view of the map. He's an alien commander. He tries to destroy the other player.
Wednesday June 8, 2011 6:59 Rich-IGN
6:58
Audrey Drake:
And for Ghost Recon this was probably because they were using separate systems.
Wednesday June 8, 2011 6:58 Audrey Drake
