New IP, old IP, still a pretty boring concept.
Anyway, why the hell arent there a million wii games that have this level of detail, these awesome controls.
The wii is the biggest waste of potential ever.
You've got to Silent Hill 5 years late. I dare say some of the perceived wasted potential is because prior to this you've only played Wii Sports and galaxy.
I'm kind of trust GAF on that one. I noticed the same thing. Honestly, I think it'll launch at $300 white, $350 black. Hope it's cheaper though.
I updated the post.
No. I played everything decent on the system. Boom Blox and Elebits are still by far the best use of the wii. Not even Zelda used it all that great.
That's a major fuck you to GG.
What am I missing. (I still have some on my shelf that I need to get to and I am counting that.
)
I have it, I will play it. But that doesnt really use the wiimote in any special way. I am talking full action/adventure games where you would have to use the wiimote to interact with the world in all sorts of ways. Like imagine if the wii got a real RE game. you shoot like RE4 but its slower paced and its much more like classic RE. All the items you get you can manipulate with the wiimote. The puzzles use the wiimote in every way possible. Stuff like that.
I thought you meant you'd played everything decent on the system fullstop, rather than just games that use the wii-remote well. I still need to try Elebits. Every time you've asked me for things of this nature I've been doing something at the same time so couldn't reply.
(PC games re. graphics, Wii games now!) Can't really think of anything that uses the wii-remote better than Boom Blox off the top of my head, though.
Were you one of the horrible bastards here who didn't play LKS?
Yes that is me. I have a million games to play. Adding a game in a genre I dont give a shit about is just asking for it to never be played.
If it wasn't for Robio, then you'd be the biggest arsehole here. Not playing it is slightly better than playing it and hating it.
I would probably like it, its good so I am sure I would see the good in it. Its just not something I would want to spend my time on when I have so many games to get to. I still have Valkyria Chronicles sitting on my shelf.
If the battles are a wagglefest that tells me you keep getting caught. The chases are like an intense, pitched tag battle and you should be aiming to virtually never get caught which interupts the flow of the chases. You should be looking at them tactically and checking the map, or turning your torch off and planning your route etc. This is why I said to check the thread for my advice there. A lot of gamers just couldn't work through the chase sequences properly and blamed the game because they kept running in circles or getting caught and having to waggle. If you are getting caught you are doing it wrong and are just bad at these segments. There is nothing functionally wrong with them. The designers deliberartely left out combat because survival horror had become more about shotguns and less about fear. This game was made to redress that and evoke the feeling that you are helpless.
This game would not have been made if it wasn't for Wii. The devs previously made the PSP SH game and Konami would not budget this game in HD as they would not take that risk, because of wii's lower budget and opportunity for innovative controls, they made it custom for Wii, with PSP getting a hackjob.
"why the hell arent there a million wii games that have this level of detail" what do you mean by this exactly, the graphics or the interactivity? Both?
Wait, is this sarcasm?
If not I guess they are waiting for the USA event
I agree, but the control in that game is the best use of control for anything. It's like a future game, an unrefined version of what games should control like. With less zapping hopefully.
Red Steel 2, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Silent Hill Shattered Memories Metroid Prime 3, Anno.
Then you have the shooters which used the controller well, MOHH2 used it especially well with some innovative control methods that have yet to be beat. Other FPSs and of course the lightgun games.
But yeah, it had potential but no one wanted to make proper AAA games for the system, imagine what they could have done with a proper Dead Space game with telekinesis? Those Extraction devs made the excellent Goldeneye remake. Capcom could have done some epic stuff in a proper Wii RE, combat and adventure/puzzle wise but they chose not to.
The attitude of developers is what hurt wii games, they just assumed that the market was grandmas and kids and then made their games accordingly. The remote had and still has potential which is why I am happy they still work with Wii U.
On another note, some of the best Wii games were made by Japanese and European devs, this is because I believe they make a game for the system it's on and don't just dismiss it based on graphics. With Europe Britain made Silent Hill, HOTD Overkill, Goldeneye and Extraction, France made all the Ubisoft games like RS2 and Rabbids Go Home. Japan did Endless Ocean, Xenoblade etc. US devs did what? Boom Blox? Conduit?
But aren't you interested in Pikmin 3? And you like RPGs right? This is like but not like and IMO better than Pikmin.
Flawless troll!
Congrats.
You be trollin'
Trololololol
Yeah GG that was sarcasm in regards to my post about Gamespot. They actually now have an article about the Wii U Japan event though.
Wait, so you CAN mount the system upright but you have to buy a separte stand which is included in the premium model? And shouldn't the charge and play stand be the same thing?
VC and LKS? Bastard.
Very high on the list, comrade. But you've got to be an arsehole if you want a successful revolution.
